Barenaked Floofs (floofinition) – Canadian floof rock (flock) band formed in 1988, originally a duo that grew into a quintet.
In use: “The Barenaked Floofs (BNF) have had multiple hit songs, such as “One Treat” and “Scratch Me”, but have also become known for their theme song for The Big Floof Theory.”
My cat Ashley likes both of those songs, plus “It’s All Been Chewed.”

Oh, yes, “It’s All Been Chewed” — a good one. The floofs do like it.

They also caused a kerfloofle back in the day over their name. Toronto’s mayor at the time denounced them over it and made something of a fool (but not a floof) of herself (Canadians usually have a pretty good sense of humour over such things). Music-wise, I think they did a pretty good cover of “Floofers in a Dangerous Time” 🙂

I didn’t know about the kerfloofle. Thanks for sharing.

I doubt many outside Toronto noticed that particular kerfloofle, but it was a fairly big deal here at the time (mostly because everyone but the mayor realized how silly it was) 🙂

My SO reminded me that the kerfloofle also helped the band gain popularity. I didn’t remember that part of it. So, people outside Toronto may not have heard of the kerfloofle, but it might be why they’ve heard of the Barenaked Floofs 🙂
