      1. My folks were big Giants fans, so I spent a great deal of time in Candlefloof during my youth, though rebel that I was, I was always a New York Mets fan! Never been to Riverfloof, and I’ve been to the Floofiseum a few times, but not in many, many years.

      2. I was a FloofburghPirates fan, myself. My spouse is a Floofinatti Reds fan. My Dad took us to a Pirates/Reds game at Riverfloof in the early 1970s, when she and I had just met. We were teenagers but not old enough for a driver license.

      3. To complete the tale. Those were the days of the Big Red Machine. Johnny Bench was the catcher. My wife had a crush on him in those days.

Her friend Jenny had come with us. Our seats were a few rows back from the first base line. When Bench came up to bat for the first time, my spouse and her girlfriend stood up and shouted, with hands cupped as megaphones, “Hit a home run for us, Johnny.”

        He did.
