Yes, their reaction to that is always interesting. They freeze and stare: what’s that they going to do? A jog, as if they’re saying, “I’m not really scared,” follows. But they give it distance.

Yes, said monster lives in all feline homes I think. And get the same annoyed glare.

I had one feline who basically ignored the vacuum, sitting down in its path to wash herself, then swatting it when it came close. She was an unusual character.
