Don’t you love it when you’re walking and encounter others, and say, “Hi” or “Hello” and they look at you like “WTF is wrong with him?” That makes me laugh, which prompts them to give me another look, which makes me laugh more, and they —
Well, you know.
I do this all the time when I’m out and about on my power walks. Most times I do get back a very pleasant “Hello” in return and once in a while, a jogger will nod or gasp out a greeting. So far, I haven’t gotten any odd looks. . .but on the whole, early mornings brings out the best in people. . .Good to have that sense of humour rather than feeling rejected 🙂

Well, sometimes there’s some *ahem* muttered cursing after they’ve gone by.

I usually get a smile, or a “hi” back. Canadians are generally a friendly bunch.

We have many tourists and backpackers off the PCT. I don’t know if that counts for anything. Just throwing it out there. Most days, two out of five will respond with greetings. Smiles are rare, however, very rare.
