I think there is a lot of truths in this quote from Don Delillo. If writers all thought the same and wrote the same, we would be a sad, sorry group—for who would bother to read our thoughts or stories? Thank goodness we are individuals and have our own creative ways of seeing things. . . . .

Yes, like readers, we each take and bring something unique to the writing process. We write for different reasons, and are searching for different answers — or maybe we’re just diverting and entertaining ourselves.
Thanks for reading and commenting. Cheers

To be completely honest – I write mainly because it brings me joy.
I don’t know that there are common or universal truths here – everyone asked the question would give you a distinct and different answer.
Cheers,

Yes, that’s what I think. Writing is personal, and it’s different for all of us. I think that I don’t write for the same reasons every day, but that I have a chest of reasons that drive me to write. In that way, it’s like a traffic accident, with multiple reasons for writing driving each session. Thanks for reading and commenting. Cheers

While I’m certainly not writing to save myself, I do have a penchance for sharing my story. In so doing, I see that I am also stretching out my individuality. I also want to make a small blip on my own in this vast universe.
