Finished. Done. Over. Completed.
Yes, I’ve completed rev five of the novel in progress. Its current working title is Memories of Why. Speculative historic fiction. Couple cups of science fiction tempered with a pint of fantasy and a few tablespoons of revisionism. 523 pages in Word. 160,000 words. Probably over three hundred large cups of coffee. Began writing it in March of last year. Started with a character — a cherub — and their imprisonment and sugar addiction. Grew from there. Humans are about as involved as Martians. Or the reverse. Azure Iarnum — AI — had a bigger role than Humans or Martians. Dragons played a small role, as did ‘spaceships’.
Next: revise again. I think I’m getting somewhere.
Wow! Good for you:-)

That is exciting, Michael! Sweetened cherubs sound very promising to me.

It’s a funny thing. It’s rewarding and exciting to reach that stage for me. But it’s also terrifying and spills buckets of angst through me as my mind circles around where I stand with the effort, and my ego shouts, “WHAT IF IT’S CRAP?” All I can do is shrug, reply, “We’ll see,” and go on. Thanks for commenting. Cheers

All that angst sounds pretty natural to me, Michael. I get the WIIC moment whenever I write a damn poem! I can’t even imagine a whole novel.
I’m cheering you on.

Yes, totally natural. I see people preparing dinner parties doing the same sort of fretting. I’ve done it, too, while waiting to make a speech or presentation, or just attending an event where I’m meeting many new folks. LOL. Thanks for the support, Annie. Always, always appreciated. Cheers
