Have you seen Mystery Men? I’m guessing one of the writers is a fan of Balzac.

I saw it when it was released last century. I don’t recall a reference to Balzac. Can you refresh me?

The Sphinx character (he was sort of a philosophical mentor to the team) would motivate them with sayings like “He who questions training only trains himself at asking questions” and “The wise man knows he is weakest where he thinks himself strong.” I’m not positive, but he may have even used this Balzac quote. Even if he didn’t, I saw your post and immediately thought of Sphinx 🙂
