I consider this very apt. I don’t know how often I encounter people who tell me they’ve been thinking about writing a book, or they want to write a book. If you’re a writer, you don’t tell others; you just begin.

Reblogged this on nbsmithblog…random digressions and musings and commented:
Words of wisdom. My husband, also an author, says the same thing. Great minds think alike, Michael. Michael is right…don’t think, write! Michael is the author of other several books including “Everything Not Known” and “Life Lessons with Savanna.”

I write because I breathe. Always have since I started ages and eons ago.
What others think of what I write is only a side benefit. Though it would be nice if family considered my passion more than a passing hobby – especially after so many decades.
I’ve been told that money has nothing to do with being a professional – For me anyway –
And that acknowledgement carries me through. That and the need to breathe.

No, money doesn’t have anything to do with being a professional except in some people’s narrow purview. I’m not one of them. A writer is a writer.
Keep breathing and writing. Cheers
