You ever think, wouldn’t it be cool if they could chip our minds so that they can be found and recovered when we lose them?

It would be cool if all our memories, etc. could be stored so that if we developed dementia, our brain could be rebooted.

That’s the premise of my novel, Returnee. He has an augmented memory (as almost everyone, except the fundamentalists, have), with a virtual presence, so his memory is a person who he can see and speak with while remembering things for him. Unfortunately, things go awry, as they do in novels.
