Science fiction, fantasy, and mystery writer. Singer (sorry, no shows) & nudist (in my home). Beer, cat, cheese, coffee, pie and wine friend. Left IBM and Silicon Valley for the southern Oregon life but I miss the ocean. We're too far inland. Gotta move.

When I was younger, and sometimes lasting to my adult years, I have read so deeply into a story, usually novel -length fiction, that the world ceases to exist. I have had people shouting at me from just inches away, or shaking me like they might shake a deeply-sleeping person, to which I do not respond. That is one way I know I am reading a well-told story, the reason I wish I could be that kind of writer.

That’s deep rg. I don’t think I’ve ever quite gone that deep into reading, although I’ve been that deep while writing. That’s the sort of writer I aspire to be as well. Cheers, M

I wish you good luck. My time has passed, I think my focus no longer lasts long enough to complete anything. I try, but after 3 or 4 pages I lose my thoughts, and forget to get back to it.

Thanks. Writing fiction is an escape for me, no matter the outcome regarding publication. My wife swears that if I go before her, she’s going to submit everything I have to get it published. *smile* Cheers, M

And she would probably be right. I myself have never read any of your publications, but then, after my second concussion a number of things have changed. Focus is one change I would give anything to have back, that and my vocabulary. Too often I forget what I am doing in the middle of an action, especially in the middle of a word. I love to write, as you can see from my comments to you or anyone else, things or observations I have been storing up inside of me for decades. What you or anyone else cannot see is pausing my typing because I lose the word I am already typing, and spend possibly 10 minutes trying to remember that perfect word.
But I try anyway. I hate clumsy writing.
