Trump has worn masks all of his life.
Yeah, Trump put on masks as genius, intellectual, historian, grass keeper, builder…
Avoiding military service, Trump went to a military school and has since pretended he’s tough as a marine, as knowledgeable as admirals and generals.
Given hundreds of millions of dollars, power, and name when he was young, Donald Trump wore a mask as a self-made businessman. Masquerading as a leader, he’s trying to become a trillionaire via grift and political corruption.
Married three times, he’s worn masks as a faithful husband and doting father. Holding a Bible, he wore a mask as a Christian and paid money to hide his affairs.
Wearing a mask as a good friend to Epstein, Trump then put a mask that he would provide the truth, and now keeps trying to put on a mask that he had little to do with Epstein.
What wouldn’t Trump do to advance himself?
Well, tell the truth. Face reality.
Trump’s masks slip off his face so fast these days, it’s almost as if the masks are rejecting him. During his inauguration, Trump tried masking himself as a unifier and peacemaker.
Since that time in 2025, Trump:
- Established immigration policies which ordered ICE to surge multiple times, brutally rounding up people, deporting them without due cause, detaining, shooting and killing US citizens
- Directed the US Navy to attack boats in international waters, murdering 234 people without due process or evidence
- Ordered the US military to kidnap President Maduro of Venezuela, again without court orders, due process, or evidence
- Commanded the US military to attack Iran in 2025 to destroy their nuclear capability
- Began a war with Iran to overturn their government and destroy their nuclear capability — which he’d already claimed to have destroyed, despite his promise of no new wars
Trump claimed he would Make America Healthy Again. Despite that slogan, the number of rural hospitals closing continues without slowing down. The hospital closures through 2026 are highest in Texas (39), Tennessee (19), Mississippi (17), and Oklahoma (17). All of these are red states who carried Trump back into office in 2025.
Measles outbreaks is at the highest levels in the United States since 1991, thanks to Trump’s healthcare policies and Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. Trump campaigned against President Biden and Vice President Harris on affordability. Now affordability is a major crisis for many Americans, completely tearing the mask off the person making those claims that he cared about them and would lower prices.
The worse mask Trump wore, though, was the one that he would govern in accordance with the Constitution and the laws and norms which bind our politics. Trump tossed that mask aside on day one. He began by Installing a billionaire, foreigner, and unelected individual, Elon Musk, to an official government position. Musk, via DOGE, fired employees, cut Congressionally authorized spending and programs, and ignored the checks and balance and agencies established via 250 years of trial and error, law, and votes.
That was only the beginning. Trump has since completely abandoned the masquerade that he’s for free and open democratic elections. Through Republican surrogates and toadies, he’s pushed for lines to be redrawn to favor Republicans. Using executive orders as imperial decrees, Trump personally attacked mail-in voting and is using the USPS and DHS to reduce its effectiveness — even though Trump uses the mail to cast his votes.
Classic Trump Double Standards. He never could find a mask to hide that one.
Trump’s masks fooled enough people that he was voted into office twice. But now, approach the midterms, enough of Trump’s masks have fallen away to expose all of his corruption and ineptitude.
Anyone voting for Trump now is voting to continue that corruption and ineptitude, regardless of the reasons they give for supporting Trump.
All of this is just the tip of the iceberg of corruption under Trump. We’re not sure how much of it is concealed. Growing evidence such as Trump’s exploding wealth and the number of pardons he’s issued led many of us to think that the corruption is enormous.
Vote blue in 2026 so We the People can begin again to try to have and hold a democratic republic.
How do I say this without seeming insane, or sounding like a false prophet: Voting Blue is the best available method to counter Trump and try to take his power away from him (Obviously I am not sure he will give up that power without declaring himself Ruler for Life!) but is that the best way for America? I have been watching American politics FROM the OUTSIDE IN, and I have grave doubts that the current Democratic Party is invested in fixing all of the corrupt actions of Trump’s administration. How many Democrats are millionaires or billionaires themselves, profiting from Trump’s heinous crimes, or are closet racists or homophobes who agree with one or more of his policies? They scream and shout while they not in power, but while in power do not change a lot of the harmful policies made into law by Republican politicians when they were in power?
Not being American, I cannot give you direct instances of what I feel inside me that is wrong with American politics, but picking up pieces of information here any
there over years that add up to keeping the poor poorer, the wealthy wealthier, and women subjugated. Nothing big, but a number of little things that add up over the years. Bills that never get signed into law, or dropped by the wayside and forgotten about. Adding addendems that have nothing to do with the topic the bill is meant to correct, but giving away little seemingly innocuous powers that later turn into big issues.
Right now the Democrats are split between centrists and left-wing Social Democrats. Can they agree to fix all the holes put into your Constitutions and Amendments? Women’s rights, environment issues, trade agreements, etc. are driving America to distraction, are destroying America’s position in world politics and economies. Anyway, I’ll leave that here for you to ponder. Feel free to disagree, or ignore my thoughts. I am just putting my nervousness out there for consideration.

I agree with you.
One of several fundamental problems with our system in the US is the two-party system. Couple that with no term limits leaves us constantly teetering on the edge of ‘choosing the lessor of two evils’.
Beyond the lack of term limits is the dark money and corporate money involved in the election process. Beyond that is that because the Federal elected offices are so rare and powerful, We the People often end up as servants of our servants. And yes, the way bills are introduced and debated slips into the ridiculous. They load bills up and add riders.
In a nutshell, then, a large contribution to our current problem is all of those things. While the Dems no doubt contributed to the current mess, the GOP has slipped further and further from being a principled party interested in keeping the nation as a democratic republic. And we as a nation embrace capitalism on the one hand while subsidizing corporations so they can be more profitable on the other. It’s honestly a mess, and yes, it angers and frustrates me and many other citizens.
But I want to start with the one step of reining in Trump, limiting his power and authority, and removing the Republicans who enable him. That’s not where we rest; that’s where we must begin.
Beyond that is a very long and painful road. One of the most compelling challenges is again, education and critical thinking. Trump, abetted by the Heritage Foundation, have broken that.
Our press is also broken. Just look how debate and understanding about inflation, employment, unemployment, and the national debt are treated are boiled down, reduced to almost meaningless political slogans, and you can see where the problems just begin.
That’s one reason why I find reading Leaving Maga helpful. People who come there and confess may not represent all of MAGA, but they intelligent enough to realize they were conned, and how they were conned, and begin to function as critically thinking people again. It gives me a tiny, tiny, tiny ray of hope
Sigh. Yes, there are so many things that were broken before Trump. It’s like a house that already needed a lot of repairs. Then a storm hit and revealed how weak the house was before the storm. Just like that, we were shown how flimsy our checks and balances were, how dependent they were by so many individuals’ rigorous integrity — and how so many failed that test
We have a plethora of issues which need attention, rg. But we will begin with now, and the clear and present danger Trump represents.
