The dyin’ man
in the dyin’ land
said with his dyin’ breath,
“Life is not a fantasy,
it’s always been a test.
“I’ve done some harm,
caused some alarm,
and failed more than one person.
“I had some dreams,
and made some schemes,
but never found my purpose.
“But now I lay me down to sleep,Â
I’m about to close my eyes,
say what you will ’bout me,
I don’t care, I died.”
I hope I can depart with words less somber. âšī¸

I hope you can, too. I was thinking that I might depart with a word or two about my favorite foods, but one never knows.

This sounds like a tombstone from some spaghetti western. I like this one better than your version 2! đ

I like that summary. Version two was an effort to be more upbeat, just to see if that’s in me. Thank you for reading and commenting. Cheers

Thanks, Kenneth. I wrote the first on a whim as I wandered the street and readied myself to write, just a stretching exercise. I’ve often wondered if I would say anything on my death bed, but as I don’t speak often now, I doubt that I would. Cheers
