I associate this song with Thanksgiving, and as it’s the day before Thanksgiving in America, I thought I’d proffer this humorous, mellow gem from nineteen sixty-seven.

The version I’m most familiar with is, I think, the 30th anniversary version (the one in which the gap in the Watergate tapes is mentioned — a gap that just happens to be the same length as “Alice’s Restaurant.”). Unsurprisingly, my twin and I have a habit of quoting lines from this song at the slightest provocation.
