We refer to this as “meatloafing.” (Sometimes this prompts me to warp-quote lines from the singer Meat Loaf: ‘I would do anything for treats… but I won’t do that’ or ‘You know I love you, human, but you’ve got a hell of a lot to learn about hunting birds’).
Folk wisdom says that a cat sitting in this position is a sign that cold weather is on the way.

Love it, Thomas. Great imagery, although, I think its proper catfinition would be a floofloaf. Great torturing of a Meat Loaf classic, too. Two out of three….
