The Escape Floof (floofinition) – Flooflish floof pop (floop) band formed in 1983. Active until 1992, they took a hiatus before reforming in 2009. They are currently active.
In use: “The Escape Floof’s best known hit, “Wild Wild Floof”, hit number one in Floofmerica in 1988 and was certified as a gold record.”
Once again, a cat is inspiring the theme music choice.
Today’s song arrived with a cat’s request in false dawn’s weak light, “Hey, feed me.”
“Eat kibble.” He’d awakened me, so naturally, my bladder said, “Well, as long as you’re awake, you might as well get up and pee.”
I eyed the kibble bowl as I wobbled past. “There’s kibble.”
Sitting down outside the bathroom, he waited. When I came out, he gave me a look with hungry eyes. “Please, sir, I am oh so hungry.”
I sighed. “Come on, youngblood,” a nickname for Papi, my young ginger.
Oh, the joy he displayed. Tail shot up as he dashed past, purrs and mews filling the space.
So here it is, “Hungry Eyes” by Eric Carmen, 1987. I’m probably as familiar with it as much from the movie, “Dirty Dancing”, as the radio. Starring Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey in the prominent roles, “Dirty Dancing” was a large hit. We ended up with the album of songs from it, so I heard it a lot.
Floofolous (floofinition) – An animal whose demeanor or activities lacks in seriousness.
In use: “Watching videos of pandas rolling around, the impression emerges that they’re even more floofolous than kittens, puppies, and baby goats.”
Floof fart (floofinition) – 1. Moment or incidence when an animal (especially a pet) forgets what it was doing and does something else.
In use: “The cat raised her rear leg to wash herself, but had a floof fart and began washing her face instead.”
2. Term for when a person plans to do something for an animal but forgets.”
In use: “Jill was about to feed her cats (because it was time and they were so reminding her), but had a floof fart and sat down to doomscroll for news about Trump’s defeat, forcing her felines into more drastic behavior to get their promised meal.”
Floofsmack (floofinition) – Hard floof rock (flock) band formed in Lawrence, Massafloofsetts, in 1995. After becoming a local success and grinding away, fame, fortune, and a new recording contract was found in 1998.
In use: “Floofsmack has had multiple number one albums and several dozen flock hit singles, including “Floofever” in 1999.”
Homofloofic (floofinition) 1. A person who enjoys being with animals.
In use: “Homefloofic people searching the net often turn from doomscrolling to visiting with Fiona the Hippo or watching dog and cat videos.”
2. Animals who prefer human company and do not like other animals.
In use: “Some animals get along well with other animals, but Flash was homofloofic, happy and loving with her person, but totally aggro whenever another animal came around.”
The Greg Floof Band (floofinition) – Floofmerican floof and roll musical band formed by Greg Floof in San Floofsisco in 1976.
In use: “One of The The Greg Floof Band’s 1981 releases was “The Puke-Up Song (They Don’t Puke ‘Em)”, which reached the top twenty on Floofboard’s Hot 100.”
Infloofuendo (floofinition) – Sly remark or veiled damaging reference about an animal’s reputation.
In use: “After seeing the broken glass, she turned to Charley, who was trying to look innocent, floofuendo sentenced him as guilty.”
Musical Floof (floofinition) – 1. An animal who likes to sing.
In use: “On one many widely shared videos on the net, a musical floof — a beagle — sits at a piano, hitting keys and howling.”
2. A Flooftish Floofmaican floof reggae (floogae) group formed in Floofminghan, Floofland, in 1979.
In use: “Musical Floof’s song, “Pass the Catnip” was released in 1992 and became a number one hit around the world.”
One Floof Wrecking Crew (floofinition) – Floofdiom used to denote that an animal is extremely messy, causes trouble, or gets into mischief.
In use: “After puking up a hairball, Tucker suddenly became a one floof wrecking crew, letting out banshee yells while gallivanting around the house, stalking the other cats, and scratching his claws on the furniture, drawing Michael’s ire.”
