Abbie Hoffman said, “Kill your parents.” (But not in the Menendez brothers way) The phrase “kill your parents” wasn’t a literal call to violence, but a metaphor for rejecting inherited values, bourgeois norms, and blind obedience. It was shock-jargon meant to provoke and awaken. Hoffman once said:
“Sacred cows make the tastiest hamburger.”
