Furbait (catfinition): A cat’s fur that invites you to give it a rub. Doing so may sometimes incur risk, especially if the fur is on its belly. With some felines, that seems to be true scratchbait.

Yes, Boo Radley inspired my thoughts about furbait this week. I’ve had cats who, while sleeping with their belly fur exposed, would stretch and purr while barely opening an eye when I gave their belly a rub.
Not Boo. Oh, no.
Not if you want to keep that hand.
