Wednesday’s Theme Music

Awoke with these words nibbling my ears. “Well, I just got into town about an hour ago.
Took a look around, see which way the wind blow.”

Ah, yes, that’s a song from my youth. “L.A. Woman,” nineteen seventy-one, The Doors. I was unfettered by fears and worries in those days, except rioting, the Vietnam War, air and water pollution, nuclear or chemical attack, equal rights, and civil rights.

Ah, the good old days. Plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose.

  1. That’s an interesting album. “The Soft Parade” had Morrison accused by critics of being the “Jerry Vale of rock.” LA Woman had its softer, more musically sophisticated moments, too, from Riders on the Storm to the title piece, but it was hard to ignore Roadhouse Blues and its muscular, rock bottom paean to late 50s – early 60s rock ‘n’ roll. La musique est rock, non?

    1. Hadn’t heard of that accusation, but I can dig it. Yes, tres interesting album. Roadhouse Blues is a favorite. I was thinking, if forced to compile a list of top ten songs, which of those would be on there? It would be troubling wrestling match.
