Floofitude (catfinition) – the quality of being a cat

In use: “She wasn’t a large cat but her floofitude, demonstrated by her inquisitive manners, loud voice, and mighty hunting skills, expanded her presence and amplified her impact.”

Virtually

I thought about having a cup of virtual coffee today, but I wasn’t sure that the virtual caffeine would give me the virtual lift I needed. On the plus side, I could think of virtually no health risks to virtual coffee. It came out to be a virtual tie with drinking real coffee, until it came to the taste. Virtual coffee has virtually no flavor.

Floof-flop

Floof-flop (catfinition) – a cat who likes to flop down on a surface and presents its belly (which isn’t always an invitation to a belly rub); an acrobatic feline move involving dropping to a surface, flipping over, and sometimes stretching.

In use: “Quinn was a natural floof-flop, and did so whenever he had a chance to interact with people he trusted.”

The Window

“I’m not really a morning person,” the first said with an air of contrition.

The second said, “But you’re not really a night person, either.”

The third said, “It sounds like you’re a middle-of-the-day person.”

“Yes,” the first said with a smile, “but it’s a very small window.”

Floofster Sunday

Floofster Sunday (catfinition) – a holiday celebrating cats, normally observed on the first Sunday in April.

In use: “For Floofster Sunday, he filled small cloth mice and birds with catnip and treats, and then hid them around the house for the cats to find.”

Floofilous

Floofilous (catfinition) – of or involving cats.

In use: “His was a floofilous life, a mobious band of feeding cats, cleaning after them, and cuddling with them, taking comfort, and giving some back.”

Catgregate

Catgregate (catfinition) – felines gathering in a mass.

In use: “After he rose from bed and emptied his bowels, noisy felines catgregated and then followed him toward the feeding area.”

Floof mob

Floof mob (catfinition) – a clowder of cats summoned by a sound or movement to a designated location to perform an indicated action before dispersing.

In use: “As soon as the can’s lid was pulled back, a talkative floof-mob encircled his legs, with each putting forward their reasons for why they should be fed first.”

Multi-floofing

Multi-floofing (catfinition) – a form of multi-tasking that involves trying to concurrently serve several cats’ demands.

In use: “He had to multi-floof in the morning, petting each cat and scratching their heads and chins, answering their meows while filling kibble bowls and doling out portions of wet food that addressed their dietary restrictions.”

Vancat

Vancat (catfinition) – the cat(s) at the forefront of an activity or movement, typically a female.

In use: “Being more intelligent and aggressive than the others, Jade was seen as the vancat of anything feline happening in the house.”
