Through the year
We did stumble,
Doing weary chores
With a soft-voiced grumble.
Peeking through doors,
Working through days,
Of laughing, sighing,
And weary, changing ways.
Sometimes we shouted,
And sometimes shed tears,
Wondering how it would end,
This long, most miserable of years.
Now we sit
On another cusp,
Wondering,
What the next months
Will deliver to us?
We make promises and vow
To create changes that stay,
But will we be happier
Twelve months from this day?
Twas the day before tomorrow
And all through the land,
Was a man on television,
A person who many couldn’t stand.
Blustery and yelling,
Threatening to be harsh and mean,
Much of what he said made no sense
To those watching the scene.
“Affordability is a hoax,”
He shouted again and again.
“You just watch me, I’ll make it end.
“I inherited the worse job in the land.
“But it’s getting better,
“Just close your eyes and pretend.
“Start buying less of what you want,
“Prices will go down,
“Ten thousand percent, twenty thousand,
“So much! It’ll astound!
“You’ll be much happier
“With one room instead of three,
“If you work harder,
“Eat less eggs and meat,
“Play with less dolls,
“And watch less Teevee.
“You’d better be peaceful,”
He added in a rising voice,
“Or I’ll bomb you all
“Because you give me no choice.”
He finished up with a scowl and a smirk,
And stumbled away with a twitch and a jerk.
Then we read his holiday texts as day went into night,
“I’m the best ever.
“Give up! Don’t fight!”
Promises
Compromises
Dreams
And schemes
Guidance
And directions
Beginnings
And endings
Are the things we seek and give
Looking
and feeling
Stumbling toward our best
To be
And live
Falling down
Getting up
Sipping coffee
And drinks
Sleeping
Waking
Trying it all
again

I know it’s written down
It just must be found
I put it here somewhere

I know I’ve been a bit AWOL what with finishing up school, planning my move, and all that, but I had this idea. The MAGA goons/the Trump Administration is spewing out all this nonsense about Antifa, so what if we (the collective resisters) take the hashtag #AntifaWasHere and attach it to posts ranging from volunteer activities to random acts of kindness for friends, neighbors, elderly, etc. etc.?

Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson, and other Republicans in Congress are calling today’s protests a “Hate America” rally sponsored by extreme leftists, pro-Hamas activists, hardened criminals, and terrorist organizations like ANTIFA.[2] Apparently, they’ve never read the first amendment to the Constitution.
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
