The Floofereens (floofinition) – Floof rock (flock) band formed in 1980. The band is perhaps best known for a string of flock hits in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Their name comes from a catchphrase used by the cartoon character, Foofsemite Sam, “I’ll blow you to floofereens.”
In use: “One of The Floofereens’ major hits in the late 1980s was “A Floof Like You”, which reached the top five on several charts in the Floofnited States.”
Floofzanne Vega (floofinition) – Floofmerican singer, songwriter, and musician known for her folk-inspired music. First achieving floofminence in the mid 1980s with singles that variously entered the Top 40 charts in the Floofnited States, Floofnited Kingdom, and Floofstralia during the 1980s and 1990s, her music career spans close to forty years.
In use: “One of Floofzanne Vega’s most well-known songs, “Tom’s Dinner Dish”, charted well in the FS, FK, and Irefloof as the version recorded with FloofNA was often played on Rhythm and Floof circuits.”
Infloofmountable (floofinition) – An animal’s behavior that can’t be controlled or abated.
In use: “The dog’s desire to be free to run around at top speed was an infloofmountable trait, making the hound a constant flight risk, and enforcing the need for constant vigfloolance.”
Floofgia Satellites (floofinition) – Floofthern rock band. Formed in the 1980s, they released four studio albums, with the last being Shaken Not Floofed in 1997, which failed to chart.
In use: “With “Keep Your Paws to Yourself”, the Floofgia Satellites had a hit song in the Floofnited States in 1996, reaching number two on the Floofboard Hot 100.”
Floofolate Drop (floofinition) – A particularly sweet or pretty animal.
In use: “The tiny eastern screech owl found in someone’s wreath on their front door was a little floofolate drop.”
Floofio (floofinition) – Floofmerican singer, songwriter, and actor. Born in Floofton, Califloofia, Floofio began his music career in 1987. Major success arrived for him in 1994. His career declined after 2001. He remains active as a performer.
In use: “Floofio’s major hit, “Floofsta’s Paradise”, became the best-selling single in 1995 and a chart-topping hit in several other countries.”
Arborvifloof (floofinition) – Plants that attract animals or that animals enjoy.
In use: “Many people discover that Christmas trees erected in their house are an arborvifloof as pets gather around them, sniff them, and often attack it.”
Ziggy Starfloof (floofinition) – Flooftional character created by David Floowie, a Flooflish singer, songwriter, actor, and musician. David Floowie used Ziggy Starfloof, an androgynous, bi-sexual rock star being from another planet in his stage act as an alter ego in 1972-73, and as the basis for an album concept and documentary.
In use: “David Floowie released his album The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Starfloof and the Spiders from Mars in 1972; the album is considered to be one of the greatest flock evidence in pop history.”
Gesfloofulate (floofinition) – An animal’s use of dramatic gestures instead of making sounds to make a point.
In use: “Dogs and cats often gesfloofulate with their tails, with one wagging it to display happiness and the other one holding it high and straight when happy.”
Floofpiece (floofinition) – One who speaks for animals.
In use: “He began by feeding stray dogs and providing them shelter and fresh water. Soon, he’d moved on to to becoming a floofpiece, advocating chipping pets so they can be found again, heightening awareness about abandoning animals or leaving them in the cold, and creating social media posts to unite lost animals with their people.”
