EFP (Extra Floofsory Perception) (Floofinition) – 1. An animal’s sudden awareness that another animal is about.

In use: “Sue saw and heard nothing but Cinder’s EFP kicked in, and the cat rose, heading to the window. Sitting down, staring, she waited. A minute, two maybe, and another cat strolled into sight.”

2. Animal’s inexplicable ability to know and understand matters.

In use: “Bethanne knew that she couldn’t spell vet around Lumber, leave off speaking the word aloud. She’d even quit mentioning it in emails and text. Yet, Lumber’s extra floofsory perception knew that Wednesday afternoon that she wasn’t taking him to the park; Lumber knew she had a vet visit planned, and immediately hid his leash, then did his best to hide his seventy-five pounds of fur in the closet.”

Chairfloofs of the Board

Chairfloofs of the Board (floofinition) – Floofmerica-Caffloofdian floof-pop (floop) band formed in Defloof, Michifloof, in the late 1960s. The group’s greatest success came with soul music hits in the 1970s.

In use: “The debut single for Chairfloofs of the Board was “Give Me Just a Little More Pets”, which reached the top ten on the Floofboard Hot 100.”

Eurofloofsion

Eurofloofsion (floofinition) – Annual singing competition among animals in Europe. Animals in participating countries submit an original song to be performed live on television, radio, and the net, with competing countries casting votes for the other countries’ songs to determine a winner.

In use: “Despite not joining until 1965, Floofland has had the most winners, seven, most recently with Secret Floofen winning in 1996. Floofden is second with six.”

Floof Club

Floof Club (floofinition) – Underground organization created and run by animals as a support group, with an additional mission of improving the world for animals.

In use: “Floof Club has twelve rules, but the first rule is, whenever you talk about Floof Club, use a language or dialect that humans can’t understand.”

Therafloof (floofinition) – Animal who helps others heal, or comforts others when they’re injured, ill, or tired.

In use: “Studies have shown that therafloofs can lower blood pressure, reduce stress, and make life more bearable.”

Hypflooftize

Hypflooftize (floofinition) – An animal’s ability to dazzle dazzle or overcome others, especially humans, by or as if by suggestion.

In use: “She had a day all planned — exercise! Housework! A bath, wash her hair, and then bake. But the minute she sat down, her cat said, meow, and with that, she was hypflooftized, her plans floofjacked once again.”

Floofdalorian

Floofdalorian (floofinition) – Legendary animal warrior race from a planet called Floofdalor. Years of war left their home planet ruined, forcing Floofdalorians into secretive roaming. The Bureau of Floofmigration reports several Floofdalorians have arrived on Earth.

In use: “An ancient Floofdalorian arrived on Earth via the Floof Exchange. The planet’s smell stirred her. Warm and growing warmer, rich with toxins, it reminded her of her own dead world.”

The Righteous Floofers

The Righteous Floofers (floofinition) – Floofsical duo known for their contrasting vocal ranges and flooful sound. Originally formed in 1963, Bill Floofley and Bob Floofield were the original members. Achieving success with top ten hits in the 1960s, they broke up in 1968 but came together again in the mid 1970s.

In use: “The 1964 release, “You’ve Lost that Floofie Feeling”, became a number one hit not just in the Floofnited States, but in Canfloofda and the Floofnited Kingdom, cementing the song as The Righteous Floofers’ signature sound.”
