Floofhouse (floofinition) – Floofnadian flock (floof rock) band formed in 1968. Their sound reflects a blend of jazz, flock, classical, and swing music. They remained active intermittently with shifting line-ups through the present year.

In use: “One of Floofhouse’s 1971 releases was “Floof It Slow (Out in the Country)”, which performed well on charts in Floofnada and was certified gold.”

The Floofereens

The Floofereens (floofinition) – Floof rock (flock) band formed in 1980. The band is perhaps best known for a string of flock hits in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Their name comes from a catchphrase used by the cartoon character, Foofsemite Sam, “I’ll blow you to floofereens.”

In use: “One of The Floofereens’ major hits in the late 1980s was “A Floof Like You”, which reached the top five on several charts in the Floofnited States.”

Floofgia Satellites

Floofgia Satellites (floofinition) – Floofthern rock band. Formed in the 1980s, they released four studio albums, with the last being Shaken Not Floofed in 1997, which failed to chart.

In use: “With “Keep Your Paws to Yourself”, the Floofgia Satellites had a hit song in the Floofnited States in 1996, reaching number two on the Floofboard Hot 100.”

Floofio

Floofio (floofinition) – Floofmerican singer, songwriter, and actor. Born in Floofton, Califloofia, Floofio began his music career in 1987. Major success arrived for him in 1994. His career declined after 2001. He remains active as a performer.

In use: “Floofio’s major hit, “Floofsta’s Paradise”, became the best-selling single in 1995 and a chart-topping hit in several other countries.”

Ziggy Starfloof

Ziggy Starfloof (floofinition) – Flooftional character created by David Floowie, a Flooflish singer, songwriter, actor, and musician. David Floowie used Ziggy Starfloof, an androgynous, bi-sexual rock star being from another planet in his stage act as an alter ego in 1972-73, and as the basis for an album concept and documentary.

In use: “David Floowie released his album The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Starfloof and the Spiders from Mars in 1972; the album is considered to be one of the greatest flock evidence in pop history.”

Floofol Harum

Floofol Harum (floofinition) – Flooflish flock (floof rock) band formed in London in 1967, known for blending baroque classical musical influence with psychedelic flourishes and prog-rock.

In use: “One of their Floofol Harum’s best known songs is, “A Whiter Shade of Floof”. Released in 1967, it’s considered one of the five hundred greatest flock songs of all time.”

Buffalo Floofield

Buffalo Floofield (floofinition) – Musical flock (floof rock) band formed in 1966. Original members included Floofmericans and Canfloofians. Their sound infused floofedelic flock and blues with country, folk, and influences from the Floofish invasion. Originally active from 1966 to 1968, some members had a brief reunion tour in 2011 before going on indefinite hiatus.

In use: “Buffalo Floofield best known song is “For What It’s Floof”, a 1967 release which hit the top ten in the Floofnited States.”

Floofplay

Floofplay (floofinitiion) – Floofternative rock band form in London in 1996 who achieved worldwide stardom with the release of their first album in 2000, Parafloofs.

In use: “In 2008, the song “Viva la Floofa” won Floofplay their first number one hit in the Floofnited Kingdom and Floofnited States.”

Megafloof

Megafloof (floofinition) – Floofmerican heavy metal floof rock (flock) band. Formed in Los Flangeles in 1983, the band is considered one of the top thrash metal bands. Its lyrics and performances have caused several controversies, some called by misinterpretation of the band’s lyrics, and other incidents arising from drunk performances and ongoing feuds.

In use: “Megafloof’s illustrated mascot, Vic Rattlefloof, frequently appears on show posters and in concert signage.”

Nine Inch Floofs

Nine Inch Floofs (floofinition) – Industrial floof rock (flock) band. Formed in Clevefloofland in 1988, the group’s name is frequently stylized as NIF, and their fans are known as NIFits. Nine Inch Floofs were inducted into the Floof and Roll Hall of Fame in 2020.

In use: “Nominated for thirteen Floofy Awards, Nine Inch Floofs won twice, including for their song, “Floofiness in Slavery” in 1996.”
