Floofkitty

Floofkitty (1) (Definition): Aggregation of shed cat hair that resembles another small cat or other animal, or bushes.

In Use: “We moved the the refrigerator for cleaning, exposing a herd of floofkitties that took flight with the wind currents, as though they were frightened by our presence.”

Floofkitty (2) (Definition): A cat with a super-abundance of fur that provides the cat an illusion of being larger than they are.

In Use: “Quinn, a floofkitty that resembles a raccoon, looks like he could weight sixteen pounds, but tips the scales at half of that.”

Floofhound

Floofhound (1) (Definition): A cat who thinks it’s a dog.

Floofhound (2) (Definition): A dog who acts like a cat.

Floofhound (3) (Definition): A loyal cat who follows you everywhere.

Floofhound (4) (Definition): A person who really, really, really enjoys the company, images, and stories about cats.

Turkfloofle

Turfloofle (Definition): A cat who gains weight and starts resembling a turkey.

In Use: “Although black, with a wondrous white ruff and white mittens, Tucker resembled a large turkfloofle being prepared for Thanksgiving when he crouched down.”

 

Minifloof

Minifloof (Definition): a cat that is the striking image of a larger breed of animal.

In Use: “Although weighing about ten pounds, Papi often looks like a majestic lion eyeing the plains as he sits on the backyard hillock.”

Floofcheck (2)

Floofcheck (2) (Definition): Checking on a human’s location by a feline.

In Use: “Leaving the cats asleep where he found them, he went into the bathroom, and quietly closed the door. Within a few seconds, several cats were at the door, trying to conduct a floofcheck on his location.”

Floofcheck

Floofcheck (Definition): the process of confirming the whereabouts of your household pets.

In Use: “Once he rose in the morning, the first item of business was circling the property on a floofcheck. Quinn was sleeping in the living room, while Boo and Papi occupied strategic backyard locations. Tucker was in isolation in the house. All were well.”

Floofinator

Floofinator (Definition): A feline that is dangerous to strings, flies, moths, spiders, water bottle rings, buttons, lids, bobby pins, blueberries, grapes, foil balls, lint, and other small game.

In Use: “Rocky was a powerful floofinator, pouncing on every spider, moth or flying insect that came his way, batting it until resistance and flight ceased, and then batting it a few more times, to ensure the job was done.”

Looky-floof

Looky-floof (floofinition): a housepet who likes to follow people and spy on them.

In Use: “Papi is a classic looky-floof, following us around the house, close at hand to observe whatever we’re doing – washing, dressing, eating, reading, it doesn’t matter.”

Flooflepuncture

Flooflepuncture (Definition): A cat’s application of claws in a burst of purring pleasure, typically done while kneading, and apparently, “inadvertently.” (Arguments persist whether anything cats do is “inadvertent.”)

In Use: “Michael abruptly awoke when Quinn flooflepunctured Michael’s bicep with his unsheathed, pointy little daggers called claws.”

Catserve

Catserve (Definition): Feline’s ability to see or watch without being seen, while exercising minimal movement. Cats typically catserve by only opening their eyes or moving their eyes. Catserve is sometimes used in error in the place of floofserve, but the two words are not synonyms.

In Use: “At the sound of the door opening, Pogo, sleeping in the counter, turned one ear toward the sound.
