Lovefloof (floofinition) – An animal or pet who enthusiastically give or receive love.
In use: “The pit bull cowered in the corner for the first week, trembling whenever someone approached him, but slowly, with love, patience, and food, he became a sweet lovefloof who enjoyed cuddling, walks, and playing fetch with a ball.”
The Flooftenders (floofinition) – Alternative Flooftish-Floofmerican flock band, known as a floo-floo-floo band in the biz, formed in 1978. The band’s sound straddled punk’s rawness and new wave’s bouncy offerings. Inducted into the Hall of Floof in 2005, the group remains active despite the deaths of several original members.
In use: “The Flooftenders’ first Floof K number one single was “Treats in Pocket” in 1978, which also reached the top forty in the Floofnited States.”
Kilofloof (floofinition) – A collection of one thousand animals.
In use: “Although there were ‘only’ fourteen puppies and kittens (from four mothers), on some days, it felt like a kilofloof running about underfoot.”
Jazz Floof (floofinition) – 1. An exuberant display by an animal, normally marked by extended legs, claws, and tail, and a grinning display of teeth.
In use: “As he often did a jazz floof, the little rescue kitten became known as Floouie Armstrong in honor of the great jazz trumpeter.”
2. An animal who enjoys jazz music.
In use: “Whenever she put on her jazz CDs, her jazz floof lab sat down, eyes partially closed, tail thumping the floor, and listened.”

Welcome to March 11, 2021. Temperatures didn’t slump much last night in my realm of Ashland, just 38 degrees F. We’ve rebounded to 47. The sun broke over the horizon at 6:30 AM and will drop below the horizon at 6:13 PM.
Today’s music is “Under My Thumb” by a little musical band known as the Rolling Stones. The song was released in 1966, which is to say, a few decades again. The memory well brought it up due to Jill’s comments that she has five obnoxious cats that she wouldn’t trade for a million pieces of gold. Reading it, I chuckled, “Sounds like they have you under their paws.” Lot of people who share floofxistence with animals have that feeling, that the animals with which they board are really the ones in charge. The animals can’t buy food or open cans, and have limited success opening doors and cupboards, but they give us looks, make noises, sing, bark, meow, and purr to us, and generally connive, con, seduce, and coerce until we’re doing everything to appease them.
Stay positive. Test negative. Wear a mask. Get the vax. Look how much progress we’ve made. Don’t screw up by getting complacent now.

Interrofloof (floofinition) – animal who must investigate, examine, and attend everything being said or happening.
In use: “Inspector Jade, the resident interrofloof, arrived as soon as the package was brought into the house, sniffing it with whiskers moving, muttering impatient mews and pawing it as she waited for them to open it.”

Motörfloof (floofinition) – Flooflish flock band formed in 1975. Playing a loud, fast brand of heavy metal, the band was active until 2015. Usually playing as a power trio, Motörfloof released 44 albums, including 10 live recordings and 12 compilation albums over a career spanning 40 years.
In use: “In 1979, Motörfloof broke into the top forty with the single, “Overfloof”, which reached number 39 on the Floof K singles chart.”
Hayfloof (floofinition) – Animal who enjoys straw, is discovered living in straw or hay, or is the color of straw.
In use: “Five little hayfloofs were discovered in the barn with their Mom. Three of the hayfloofs were miniatures of Mom, dogs with brown, black, and white spots, but the other two blending in with the straw bed, such was their color.”
