Telecathic (catfinition) – a person who can directly communicate with a cat by way of thinking.
Stalling
I was stalling this morning. I knew what I wanted to write. Several scenes were queued in the writing stream, ready for release.
But I was stalling. Why? I like to think I was limbering myself. So I checked news, stocks, sports, weather…idling my writing mind, passing time…ahem, stalling.
I know some of the stalling was due to uncertainty. While I knew these scenes, I wrestled with another aspect of the trilogy. That sort of excursion always slows me, no matter what project I’m working
My stalling ended abruptly with one line that I read:
“Browns find out how far down the rabbit hole goes”
A new angle of dialogue and thought were ignited. Like that, I went from stalling to impatiently writing.
Then I paused to write about it and share it with you.
I asked myself about that: why was I posting about it? But writing’s point for me it to help me think about what I was doing, and why I was doing it. I spare you deeper words and insights, because I’m writing for me, and doing just enough to unleash my thinking.
Okay, time to write like crazy, at least one more time, even if it is a new year.
Accatuate
Accatuate (catfinition) – to accent a layout or organization, especially in a home, to accommodate cats.
In use: “Carpet covered climbing trees for cats were placed by the sun-filled window on the east side, accatuating the home as a residence for at least one feline.”
The Control Dreams
Little late posting about this, as I dreamed it on winter solstice.
It was a simple dream. I was driving one of three vehicles. Other people were driving the other vehicles. One vehicle controlled the others. I wasn’t in that vehicle, so I lacked control. But I wanted it. Lack of experience with the vehicle and ignorance about what was transpiring hampered me.
The cars were impressive. Closed cockpit, but definitely road cars, they were extremely low, powerful, silent and fast. They were also identical. I knew the other two drivers in the dream as people from earlier years of life.
We took off driving. I was third in line. In an interesting twist (maybe interesting only to me), I went from a close, over the shoulder point-of-view in which I saw myself, my controls and the road ahead, to a long, wide shot that featured the three sleek, silver vehicles silently racing along an elevated white highway.
Back in the car’s cockpit, I decided I wanted control. So I took it with by flicking a switch. Now I was the one driving as the other two chaffed about me taking control. But I had it and didn’t relinquish it, and they accepted that after their brief complaints.
That’s essentially the dream, but subsequent activity was interesting. First, I awoke on the day after solstice feeling like a tremendous weight on been removed. I felt lighter, stronger, and more energetic and optimistic.
Two, among several dreams was a repeat of this dream a few nights later. It went almost exactly the same way.
I thought it a good omen for a new year, but then, I’m an optimist. Have a good day.
Cheers
Tuesday’s Theme Music
New Year. Don’t know about you, but on a personal quantum level, I feel good about it. Feel like I’m in tune.
Which is a nice segue for today’s music. Here’s Daltry and the Who with the Pete Townsend composition, “Getting In Tune,” from 1971, as fine a year as there is. The song starts soft and then rises and quickens, a perfect metaphor for 2018.
Meowchiavelianism
Meowchiavelianism (catfinition) – a cat’s employment of duplicity in catcraft or in general conduct for personal gain.
Just Wondering
You ever complain about your weather, and then read about someone else’s weather, and say, “Well, at least I don’t have it as bad as them.”?
Yeah, it’s freezing fog here, but it’s dry and in the thirties. Of course, we worry about the snow pack, and not having water this summer, and what those dry conditions will mean to the fire season.
Do you ever think we’ll get weather control? And, if we do, will we have weather neutrality, or will corporations and the wealthy “manage” it for their own benefit?
You Ever Wonder…
You ever hear someone say, “I’m getting some socks for my feet,” and wonder, where else do you use your socks?
Yeah, just wondering.
Mewsing
Mewsing (catfinition) – a meowing noise a cat makes to make others wonder what the cat is thinking; people’s pondering about why a cat is meowing.
New Year’s Theme Song
A reminder from the past.
Forget about the past and all your sorrows,
The future won’t last,
It will soon be over tomorrow.
“It Don’t Come Easy,” by Ringo Starr.
