Wenzdaz Theme Music

It’s about 49 F and rainy today in Ashlandia, Wenzda, November 5, 2025. After a full day of rain yesterday, we’re anticipating a full day of rain today. Weather seers say we’re due to reach 55 F. It’s also a windy day, so tie everything down.

For a little fun today, I asked a search engine what were the odds at the season’s start that the Steelers would win the Superbowl in 2006. It replied that the Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Kansas City Chiefs by one point in the Superbowl that year. The answer makes no sense at all. KC and Pittsburgh are both AFC teams. The big bowl is the championship game between the AFC and NFC. One team from each conference must be represented. Secondly, the Steelers won over the Seattle Seahawks, 21-10. That’s history. Those are all facts. It’s like AI is channeling Trump, just making stuff up.

I read last night that Trumpet #1, the Commander in Cheat, is most unpleased by election results. Some of the Republican losers immediately whinged, “Fraud! Theft! Not fair!” Prop. 50 in California passed, giving the CaliDems the chance to create more Democratic Reps in the U.S. House, to counter red state gerrymandering.

I also read that TACO reversed himself on SNAP. Or some SNAP. Hard to parse the gibberish. He has such a steady head on his shoulders…not… Meanwhile, the Epstein Shutdown courses on.

A series of rockin’ dreams dictated today’s music choice for The Neurons. When, while dressing and shavin’ and thinkin’ of dreams, I queried Les Neurons, why this song, they smirked and replied, “Just Because”.

There you have it, “Just Because” by Jane’s Addiction.

It’s five thirty AM. We’re about to climb into the car and head to the hospital for my surgery. Hope grace and peace find us all, but it’s been how many days now? No coffee for me today or tomorrow, I’m afraid. Only liquid food, and that doesn’t include beer and wine. Guess I just gotta wing it. Cheers

Thursday’s Theme Music

Say hello to our newest date. August 5, 2021 was born at midnight on a Thursday. We have high hopes for this little date. Hope it can live up to it. The date has had an eventful life already. Sunrise in our area came for August 5, 2021 at 6:08 AM. Sunrise will come much later for August 5, 2021, 8:27 PM. Like its siblings, August 2, 3, and 4 of this year, it’s hot and smoky here, highs in the nineties and smoke that blocks sun and sky, and scrapes your throat raw. Elsewhere, August 5, 2021 — the fifth to their friends, or August fifth — will be involved with NFL Football and the Olympics, along with multiple baseball games, politics, some weather matters, the stock market, economic issues…just about anything you can name!

Haven’t done this song in almost two years. It’s one of those I enjoy cranking up to the point that its sound drowns out life. It came to me after thinking about my dreams this morning. Surely there’s a connection. Here is Jane’s Addiction with “Been Caught Stealing” from 1990. Stay positive, test negative, wear a mask as needed, and get the vax. Cheers

Saturday’s Theme Music

Today’s song is one of those turn-it-up loud touchback beats from waayyy back in 1990.

Fun facts from November 1990:

The U.S.S.R. was the United States’ great enemy and an evil empire, according to our former POTUS, Ronald Reagan. Our new guy, in his first year, was George H.W. Bush. The Berlin Wall had fallen the previous year. The U.S.S.R. would soon end.

A coalition led by the U.S. was building up for the Gulf War, amassing troops to attack Iraq and free Kuwait.

The Internet and web were just catching on as a force. AOL and Yahoo were big players in the U.S. Google hadn’t been started yet. Cell phones were just rolling out as the 2G network took shape. Taking selfies with your phone weren’t due for twenty more years. Facebook was still over a decade away, and Twitter was further out that than.

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady was thirteen years old.

Donald Trump was still with his first wife, Ivana.

Cool beans, right?

Here’s Jane’s Addiction with “Been Caught Stealing”. Crank it, baby.

Wednesday’s Theme Music

I’m sure I posted about this song before. I’ve always found it compelling, as it expresses the behavior of a person struggling with love, self-confidence, addiction, and the inability to express themselves. Yes, that’s a lot for a rock song to carry. The same lines return to me: “She gets mad and she starts to cry. She takes a swing but she can’t hit. She don’t mean no harm. She just don’t know what do to about it.”

Here’s Jane’s Addiction with “Jane Says” from 1987.

Today’s Theme Music

How ’bout a little retro sound on this freezing, foggy southern Oregon winter morning, hey? Maybe that goes, “La da dada dadada, la da dada da.”

Maybe something with some barking dogs and heavy bass, something from 1990. Maybe a little Jane’s Addiction and ‘Been Caught Stealing’.
