Prefloofitate (floofinition) – rash, headlong actions to help animals, esp. housepets.
In use: “Seeing the cat clinging to the bridge’s side, the four teenagers made a prefloofitate decision to save and began figuring out how to climb down the bridge’s steep, slick side.”
Purflooftory (floofinition) – the period of waiting for word on a missing fur friend or the outcome of their medical procedure.
In use: “The day was a waste. He’d descended into puflooftory, piddling around to smother time until the vet called and told him, “The operation was a success. Camryn is awake. You can come and get him.””

Floofbot (floofinition) – a machine that waits on pets, completing menial tasks necessary for their care.
In use: “As she gave the dog another treat and prepared to take him for a walk, she said, “Sometimes I think you think I’m your floofbot.” The dog sat down and gave her a hurt look. She rushed to him and hugged his big neck, kissing his head. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean it.” Standing, the dog thumped his tale.”
Hearing the sharp meow, thumps, and swearing, she knew what’d happened.
He came in seconds later. “That cat is so stupid. He’s black. He knows I can’t see him, but he still lays on the rug, and I almost step on him or kick him, and he gets upset. You’d think he’d learn.”
She answered, “He’s a cat. You know he’s not very smart. You’d think that you’d learn by now.”
He glared at her for several seconds before saying, “Sure, take the cat’s side,” and stalking out.
Floofspot (floofinition) – 1. place on human bodies that pets like to rub. Floofologists theorize that many cats and dogs believe that rubbing a specific spot on a human will grant them complete control over the human’s activities, a practice first documented in ancient Flooflandia. 2. place on pets that humans like to rub because their pets seem to like it. 3. Specific location known as habitual sleeping, ambush, or lurking locations used by housepets.
In use: “As soon as he walked into view, the cats raced to his legs, rubbing against his calves, knees, and ankles in search of his floofspot, as their mother had taught them.”
Floofpensity (floofinition) – a housepet’s inclination or natural tendency to behave in a particular way.
Have you ever reached up with a finger to shove your eye-glasses back, only to find that you’re not wearing them, and almost poke yourself in the eye? Then you look around to see if anyone witnessed this behavior.
Not that I’ve ever done it. Just wondering.
I suppose I’m not the only one with people in my life who remember every fault, often magnifying them, and hold them against you, and forget the kindnesses you did for them.
The kindnesses were in the past, and this is now, but their anger and resentment is eternal.
Catpulsion (catfinition) – a feline’s irresistible activity or behavior, often impelled by an urgent or obsessive need to act.
In use: “Whenever the bathroom door closed, Ittybitty catpulsion to supervise her humans kicked in, and she scratched frantically at the door to get in.”
