AF (Artificial Flooftelligence) (floofinition) 1. Machines or toys made to emulate or duplicate animal behavior or sounds. Origins:

In Use: “Some companies and people think that AF (Artificial Flooftelligence) is the way to go, giving people the impression that they have a fur friend with little barking and meowing mechanical critters, but true floof lovers recognize the soulessness of these mechanical devices.”

2. Attributing greater smarts to an animal than they actually have. Origins: Internet circa 2017.

In Use: “People who live with pets often claim their furry sweetie is the smartest ever, ascribing the critters with artificial flooftelligence like the animals are Stephen Hawkings in animal guise.”

Flooftivist

Flooftivist (floofinition) 1. Animal who protests how animals (including itself) are being treated or kept.

In use: “Jade was a flooftivist from an early age, conducting sit-ins and lie-ins against unreasonable rules, such as ‘don’t take food off plates’ and ‘don’t get on the kitchen counter’.”

2. A person who uses or supports strong actions (such as public protests) in support of animal rights or against animal abuse.

In use: “With the surge of information on the web came increasing evidence and awareness that animals have more intelligence and experience more emotions that previously accepted, generating more flooftivists from earlier ages and more areas of the world.”

Floofple

Floofple (floofinition) – 1. Modern minted phrase for people who love and support animals and their rights.

In use: “Many floofple embrace an animals’ bill of rights, aimed at reducing animal abuse while encouraging people not to think of animals as dumb creatures who don’t have emotions.”

2. An affectionate, alternative expression used to refer to animals.

In use: “I was forced to stay home during the 2020 coronavirus pandemic, which didn’t exactly please the household floofple, as it interfered with their routines.”
