Floof-positive

Floof-positive (floofinition) – Something an animal does which definitely shows that something else is true or correct.

In use: “She’d begun by echoing her father, that her cat was just a dumb animal, but each day, opening doors and blinds, or by reacting to her words, showed floof-positive that he was far from dumb, and could be smarter than her.”

Buffloofery

Buffloofery (floofinition) – Animal behavior that’s ridiculous but amusing.

In use: “The Internet has become the Floofernet as videos of bufloofery are posted and shared millions of time per day.”

Floofcine

Floofcine (floofinition) – Any shot meant for an animal to innoculate them against disease or infection.

In use: “It was time for annual floofcines, which meant heading to the vet, which meant tricking the dog, because the big German Shepherd was a smart animal. Watching out the window, he soon realized where they were going and began crying.”

 

Floofminion

Floofminion (floofinition) – An area or place where animals practice self-government.

In use: “The household had multiple pets, but the humans made few rules; the animals’ floofminion had established mores and rules, and a few enforcers monitored behavior. The basic guidance was share the laps, beds, food, sunshine, and treats, and respect one another’s space, and we’ll all be fine.”

Floofpathy

Floofpathy  (floofinition) – The sympathy and empathy that one animal has for another.

In use: “While eating its kibble, the kitten noticed the dog wanting some. Demonstrating a little floofpathy, the kitty dished kibble out of the bowl and batted it to the dog.”

 

 

Profloofic

Profloofic (floofinition) – 1. A person or household with a large number of animals.

In use: “Birds, hamsters, guinea pigs, lizards, and turtles were all part of the profloofic household collection, along with the required cats and dogs, and a pig and goat, yet they were always ready to adopt more.”

2. Someone who champions or favors animals or animal rights over other priorities.

In use: “He’d decided, at last, that he was profloofic, that how people treat animals is the mark of our civilization and a bellweather for what matter happen in the future.”

Neofloofic

Neofloofic (floofinition) – 1. Something that’s new to an animal.

In use: “The box was neofloofic for all the animals but that didn’t stop a march as all moved en floof to sniff it for evidence of its purpose and travels.”

2. Period when new animals first met humans after migrating to Earth.

In use: “Dogs and cats (who were thought to be domesticated by humans) arrived during the Neofloofic Wave and decided that conditioning people to take them in and care for them was easier than living as many other animals did, hunting others to eat while huddling for warmth, seeking shelter, and ensuring that they didn’t become the prey. Why seek new shelters when people were already building them?”

Tail Tickle

Tail Tickle (floofinition) – The response felt (sometimes with itching or light laughter) when an animal’s tail touches or sweeps across a human’s face.

In use: “Jumping up onto the desk, the cat hopped over the laptop’s keyboard, giving Michael a tail tickle as he passed.”

Floofschach Test

Floofschach Test (floofinition) – Process animals use to access new objects and creatures to determine the best response.

In use: “With many animals, the Floofschach Test begins with an alert glance and sharpened listening, followed by sniffing and a mental appraisal. Some, though, employ an abbreviated Floofschach Test, seeing something and deciding, nope, I’m gone.”

Floof-effect

Floof-effect (floofinition) – 1. The weather impact on fur or feathers.

In use: “The air temperature was thirty-seven degrees but the sun was shining, so the floof-effect was fifty.”

2. Impact of an animal on a mood or atmosphere.

In use: “Everyone was quiet and pensive, waiting to see what happened, until the floof-effect of a cat sauntering in changed everything.”
