Floofpedition

Floofpedition (floofinition) – An animal’s journey or excursion undertaken for a specific purpose.

In use: “Each night when his cat left the house, he acted like he was undertaking a floofpedition. To satisfy his curiosity, Michael ended up buying a tracking collar with a small camera mounted to it, along with a set of outside cameras to help him follow his floof around.”

Floofmaste

Floofmaste (floofinition) – Traditional greeting of respect among animals, often accompanied by sniffing butts or touching noses.

In use: “Young animals are often taken aback by older animals offering floofmaste for the first time, but generally quickly grasp the concept as its origins and meanings are explained. Many then try it on humans, who are often amused or delighted.”

Floofrageous

Floofrageous (floofinition) – Animal behavior which is not conventional or matter-of-fact.

In use: “Defining floofrageous behavior for people owned by cats is difficult as cats often stretch the boundaries of what’s acceptable, respectable, or normal.”

Floofnamics

Floofnamics (floofinition) – A pattern or process of change, growth, or activity by animals or centered around animals.

In use: “Adding a new pet, no matter what their age, breed, or species, will often incur new floofnamics, forcing animals and people both into re-assessing what’s going on.”

Flooftoring

Flooftoring (floofinition) – Act of teaching employed by animals to help humans learn what needs to be done.

In use: “Many animals discover that humans inexperienced in pet ownership require flooftoring to teach the humans to respond to their commands. The animals are often disappointed in the humans’ limited abilities to learn and grow, but the animals keep trying, usually through repetition of lessons.”

Universal Floof Language

Universal Floof Language (floofinition) Method of using non-verbal communication to convey messages, often employed by animals to deal with less evolved species, such as humans.

In use: “After trying in vain to reach the human via floofspeak and then floofepathy, the stray cat finally employed Universal Floof Language, putting his tail up, opening his big eyes, purring while saying, “Meow,” which finally gained him some food, although not the specific menu request he had in mind.”

Floofstation

Floofstation (floofinition) – 1. The carrying and caring of young animals, particularly pets, by humans.

In use: “In the process known as floofstation, humans take over as caregivers for young animals, feeding them and keeping them warm, as absent mothers would do.”

2. A feeding or sleeping location for animals.

In use: “In many homes, beds aren’t used by humans in the day, and become a floofstation for pets seeking a comfortable napping site.”

3. A way location for animals using the Floof Exchange to visit or arrive from other realities and dimensions.

In use: “Floofstations aren’t visible to human senses and brains — they just lack the quantum skills necessary to see them — so humans don’t understand how animals can come and go in relative stealth and secrecy.”

Floofbinger

Floofbinger (floofinition) – Behavior or signs by animals that foreshadows a future event or that gives an anticipatory indication of what’s to come.

In use: “The house beagles woke up, sat up, and broke out in howls, a floofbinger that emergency vehicles and their sirens would soon be heard.”

Trifloofulate

Trifloofulate (floofinition) – To surround a person or another animal with three other animals.

In use: “When Michael moved to the dining room, he discovered that the cats had trifloofulated around him.”

Flooftivist

Flooftivist (floofinition) 1. Animal who protests how animals (including itself) are being treated or kept.

In use: “Jade was a flooftivist from an early age, conducting sit-ins and lie-ins against unreasonable rules, such as ‘don’t take food off plates’ and ‘don’t get on the kitchen counter’.”

2. A person who uses or supports strong actions (such as public protests) in support of animal rights or against animal abuse.

In use: “With the surge of information on the web came increasing evidence and awareness that animals have more intelligence and experience more emotions that previously accepted, generating more flooftivists from earlier ages and more areas of the world.”
