Floofinator

Floofinator (Definition): A feline that is dangerous to strings, flies, moths, spiders, water bottle rings, buttons, lids, bobby pins, blueberries, grapes, foil balls, lint, and other small game.

In Use: “Rocky was a powerful floofinator, pouncing on every spider, moth or flying insect that came his way, batting it until resistance and flight ceased, and then batting it a few more times, to ensure the job was done.”

Looky-floof

Looky-floof (floofinition): a housepet who likes to follow people and spy on them.

In Use: “Papi is a classic looky-floof, following us around the house, close at hand to observe whatever we’re doing – washing, dressing, eating, reading, it doesn’t matter.”

Flooflepuncture

Flooflepuncture (Definition): A cat’s application of claws in a burst of purring pleasure, typically done while kneading, and apparently, “inadvertently.” (Arguments persist whether anything cats do is “inadvertent.”)

In Use: “Michael abruptly awoke when Quinn flooflepunctured Michael’s bicep with his unsheathed, pointy little daggers called claws.”

Catserve

Catserve (Definition): Feline’s ability to see or watch without being seen, while exercising minimal movement. Cats typically catserve by only opening their eyes or moving their eyes. Catserve is sometimes used in error in the place of floofserve, but the two words are not synonyms.

In Use: “At the sound of the door opening, Pogo, sleeping in the counter, turned one ear toward the sound.

Floofstreak

Floofstreak (Definition): A mark left by a cat dragging its butt across the carpet.

In Use: “Having some issue, Jade dragged her rear across the carpet, leaving a floofstreak as evidence.”

Waterfloof

Waterfloof (Definition): a classification of cat abnormally obsessed with or attracted to liquids, and their receptacles and vessels.

In Use: “Time and space had to be allotted for Jade’s activities. A true waterfloof, running bath water drew her presence. Her subsequent routine was to splash paws through the water, splashing about with feline joy.”

Double Bonus Day

I’ve made one thousand posts on this site since I began posting in May of twenty sixteen. This is also National Donut Day. To honor these two events, I’m having pancakes.

I will probably drift down toward Puck’s Donuts in downtown Ashland and linger. The smell of freshly fried donuts blending with the wood smoke of pizza places, grilling burgers and onions, is maddening and delicious. If a town can be said to wear a scent, Ashland’s eau d’ cologne by the Plaza is Puck’s Donuts.

Maybe I should start marketing and selling food scents.

Cheers

Floofledoppel

Floofledoppel (Definition): Two (or more) look alike cats.

In Use: “The two tuxedo cats approached one another and sniffed the other’s face, so much like floofledoppels, that their white whiskers curved in the same manner under their triangular pink noses, and their long, narrow tails displayed the same droops.”
