Saturday’s Theme Music

Yea, verily, the sojourners did come to Saturday and proclaimed it to be December 11, 2021. And the wind did blow after the sun rose at 7:29 AM, gusting through the trees with a fierce bark, whereupon the people, seeing this, did declare that they were happy to be behind windows, doors, and walls, though the cats, being contrarians, did demand that they experience this weather for themselves. And so, the cats went out into the wind, and the day was not as bad as the house-dwellers feared, because it was 46 degrees F. Sunset is at 4:39 PM, the cats were told, whereupon, they replied, “We don’t care. We’re cats.”

“Feelin’ Alright” by Joe Cocker rides the morning mental music stream. A friend shared this Ed Sullivan Show Joe Cocker appearance from 1969 on her FB. I was 12 when this aired. The fashion, dancing, and colors all ignited memories of that era. Then came the thoughts, look how young Cocker looks. Appreciation for the song and its lyrics was rekindled. Interesting interaction between musicians and dancers can be observed, too. It’s a happening scene all around.

Stay positive, test negative, wear a mask as needed, bludgeon COVID-19 when you can, and get the jabs. I’m getting coffee. You read me? Here’s the music. Cheers

A Time Dream

First, one dream ended. All I remember of it was that Glenn Greenwald was mentioned. Then I discussed someone’s book. No details from that remain with me. In the end, I was trying to explain what I meant but couldn’t think of a specific word. I tried writing it on a white board and wrote in lower case letters in red, ‘threat’. Standing back, I said, “That’s not what I meant to write.”

But a new dreamisode began. I was studying with others. We were a small class, five, learning in an old farmhouse. The other students and I were talking and joking when we were supposed to be studying. I picked up the book to try again. The subject was macroeconomics and my interest in learning it was low.

The teacher, a young, short white man with a black beard, entered and asked if we were ready for our exam. Other students who were younger than us approached our farmhouse. My class watched them out the window. We discovered they’d taken the same course and had already finished the exam. Not only that, but they were ahead of us on lessons.

My classmates and I were dismayed. We were expected to read several chapters, amounting to hundreds of pages, in a few days and then pass an exam on it? I laughed. “I need more time,” I said to the instructor.

“How much time?” he asked.

I laughed again. “A few years.”

Dream end.

Floof Eye

Floof Eye (floofinition) – Look of suspicion or irritation that an animal, particularly a pet, gives a human or another animal.

In use: “She tried tiptoeing around her plans to take the dog to the vet, but sensing something was up, he gave her the floof eye and hid.”

Nonfloofsance

Nonfloofsance (floofinition) – Failure to do what an animal wants to be done.

In use: “In a show of doggy nonfloofsance, the little border collie refused to yield his bed to the cat despite her intense staring and a raised paw.”

Wednesday’s Theme Music

Fozzley and mute, sliverly gray, the weather’s not much different this day. Temp stuck on 41 F, going neither up nor down with any interest. Sun is shining, it’s that paste up there, but its intent and impact is nada to fear.

Today is Wednesday, December 8, 2021, a sign that the year is less than four weeks from done. Sunglow came with a thin shiver this morn, 7:27 AM, to cite the time, but the difference in weather could be paid with one thin dime. Sunset will be at 4:39, ending the daytime, floating us to night.

“Bust A Move” by Young MC from 1989 is the morning mental music stream squatter. That song was a constant in clubs and radio play back 89/90. It’s catchy with a sweet beat that makes it an inviting dance song. Bust a move as an expression has more meanings than the love and sex alluded to in the song. To bust a move now means to do something other than standing by, holding on, or waiting. That’s why it’s fell into the morning stream. I was chatting with myself about where I was on a project and then announced, “Time to bust a move.”

Stay positive, test negative, wear a mask as needed, and get the jabs. Besides that, when you feel like you may COVID-19 because of your symptoms, isolate and get yourself tested. Stop the spread and treat yourself. You deserve it.

Speaking of deserving it, I think I deserve a cuppa coffee now. Here’s the music. Cheers

Floof Accompli

Floof Accompli (floofinition) – A thing accomplished by an animal and apparently irreversible.

In use: “By the time she paid attention to what was going on, the dog had edged onto her lap, put down his head, and gone to sleep. Accepting the floof accompli, she stayed still except to stroke his face, unwilling to disturb him, even though she had things to do.”
