Munda’s Wandering Thoughts

It was a strange coffee shop morning. My back against one wall, the tables were full of chatting couples. Eavesdropping, I realized that of the four closest tables to me, all four couples were generally a counselor meeting with a client doing therapy sessions. I’ve noticed three of the couples at the coffee shop before. Heard several of them talking about their partner’s drug issues or their own health issues, both mental and physical. I rarely feel a need to talk to another about my issues. Then again, I often write about that shit.

Guess that’s my therapy.

Lethflooflogica

Lethflooflogica (floofinition) – Inability to remember an animal’s correct name. Origins: Attributed to Carl Floong, borrowed from ancient Fleek.

In Use: “Bunchy had acquired so many names — neighbors called him one thing, different family members referred to him by other names like Sparky, Blackie, Onyx, and he’d come to the family with a foster name — that the pet sitter often suffered lethflooflogica and referred first to the other animals’ names before landing on Bunchy.”

Munda’s Wandering Political Thoughts

Maya Angelou wrote On the Pulse of Morning for President Bill Clinton’s 1993 inauguration and read it during the ceremonies. I particularly like several specific lines from the poem.

Lift up your eyes upon
This day breaking for you.
Give birth again
To the dream.

Women, children, men,
Take it into the palms of your hands,
Mold it into the shape of your most
Private need. Sculpt it into
The image of your most public self.
Lift up your hearts
Each new hour holds new chances
For a new beginning.
Do not be wedded forever
To fear, yoked eternally
To brutishness.

Yes, “Do not be wedded forever to fear, yoked enternally to brutishness.”

Sometimes we need to look back to look forward. Thank you, Maya Angelou.

Munda’s Theme Music

Mood: tickintickintickin

Welcome to Martin Luther King Jr Day, 2025. We could use a fiery, intelligent individual like MLK Jr here in 2025. Don’t really see one on the horizon at this point.

It’s Munda, January 20. Ashlandia’s weather is coldish but not bad, 39 F with sunshine and wind. Not even any frost out yonder this mornin’. ‘They’ predict it’ll reach the mid-40s. I’ll take and accept the sunshine with its light and sorta warm feel.

Not gonna watch or read much news today. Already seeing signs that the MSM is gonna try to paint over the glaring mess of government that will be commnencing. Like, saw a story that said that the PINO-elect came into D.C. with deference this time, instead of the defiance of his previous entrance as POTUS. Sure, they can say that, but isn’t it because so many billionaires have pledged allegiance to his name?

Today’s music is a flashback to the late 1900s. The Chumbawamba song didn’t chart in the U.S. and I’m not sure where I heard it. Released in 1993, I quickly picked up the chorus: “I’m a timebomb, a ticking, ticking timebomb.” Given events happening in the United States today, I’m not overly surprised that The Neurons found “Timebomb” in the mental tombs and thrust it into the morning mental music stream. It fits with my interpretation of recent news and expectations for the near future. BTW, don’t confuse this song called “Timebomb” with any of the other songs named “Timebomb”. Surprising how many songs have that name, LOL. BTW, they channel a bit of “For What It’s Worth” at ’bout the 2:20 mark: “Stop now what’s that sound everyone looks what’s going down.”

I made a new peace with coffee for the day and we’re celebrating with big gulps. Hope your Munda starts or continues your week with strong personal success for you. Here’s the music. Crank it up and sing along. Here we go. Cheers
