Floofomania

Floofomania (floofinition) – Obsessive desire to be with animals, or to immerse oneself in objects and matters related to animals.

In use: “It wasn’t enough that he had four cats. He’d become a floofomania, with cat art on his walls, cat sculpture on his tables, and cat-themed socks, shirts, and ties. Friends and family privately whispered to one another about holding an intervention. When he heard about it, he laughingly called it an ‘interflooftion’. That just disturbed them more.”

Friday’s Theme Music

A bitter chill haunts the morning air. Sunlight blighted by gray clouds wearies its way through the windows, casting dull shadows from the partially nude trees. Welcome to Friday, October 29, 2021.

The temperature hovers around 61 degrees F right now but my skin whispers, it’s not that warm. The high today between sunrise at 7:40 AM and sunset at 6:09 PM is just forecast for three degrees more. Like the sun is saying, “It’s Friday, and I don’t feel like giving as much today.” Beautiful colors that burst into the leaves are all acting spent, fading by the hour, dropping from the trees, filling streets and lawns, turning to brown and crumbling.

Today’s theme music was inspired by food. Truthfully, it was a food pick-up. Called in an order to a local establishment, then ‘ran out’ to get it by getting into the car and driving over there. But my wife said, “Why don’t you run out and get it,” and I totally understood it would involve the car.

So I was taking food on the go, which my brain shifted to say, on the run, and voilĂ , I was thinking that I’d take food on the run, which led to REO Speedwagon’s 1981 song, “Take It on the Run”, to slip into the mental music stream, where it still resided this morning. I like the song’s rising guitar sound and embellishments as the tempo increases before it crashes back down to a soft note, and a final outro, “Heard it from a friend who, heard it from a friend who, heard it from another, you been messin’ around.”

Stay positive, test negative, wear a mask as needed, and get the vax and booster when you can. I’m gonna listen to the song again and sip my coffee. Here’s to ya. Cheers

The Kiss Dream

No, it wasn’t the group, nor the song. I was in my apartment in a high rise, a lovely place, plain with white walls. A short white blonde woman in a purple dress was there, a dream friend, but not anyone I know. She and others had been visiting my wife and were now saying their good-byes. We were in the bedroom. My wife was in the other room. The woman said, “Kiss me, quick.” So I did. Then I heard my wife coming and broke it off.

It was a great kiss, though. Stayed on my mind, fulfilling some desire that I had for the other woman. A short while later, there’s a knock on our door. One of the women has returned. She talks to my wife, leading her into another room. As she does, the woman in purple and three other friends rush in and slip into the bedroom.

I go in. They’re laughing and whispering. I ask, “What are you doing?” They answer, “We came back to kiss you.” Each gives me a quick peck. They also play grab ass with me. I’m responding, “Are you crazy?” They hear my wife coming and hide under the bed, which is unmade.

My wife comes in with another female friend, the one who knocked on the door. I realize that she’s in on it. My wife says that she came over to borrow a video to watch. She wants something funny. I begin going through small stacks of VHS tapes, telling her what’s in there that we can loan her, but it’s all educational films.

She and my wife leave the room. The woman in purple appears beside me and says, “I just want to grab another kiss from you.” I answer, “I want to grab more than that.” We begin kissing and fondling one another.

Dream end.
