He doesn’t understand how little his words meant, how his actions devalue his words.

He claims he wants to be closer, but he never calls or visits. He doesn’t send emails or check in on social media. Nor does he write letters. He’s reduced his caring to Christmas and birthday cards, a practice that has continued for twenty years…unchanged.

That’s why his “I love you” means so little.
