Hearing the words out loud may reveal an ill-formed turn-of-phrase or over-used favorite word… but it may not. (*irritable copyeditor is irritable*)
Music, though… Music is good for inspiration or at least motivation. So is re-reading favorites.

And walking, for me. Walking dissolves the bars that keep my muses from getting in. Or that’s what I tell myself. Still works.
