I KNEW, just from seeing the title of this post, that it was gonna be the “Trust your demon” quote. 🙂 It happens to be my second-favorite quote on writing from this author.
On why he mixed elements of sci-fi and fantasy, rather than sticking to one or the other: “The part of me that wishes to remain honest while telling the calculated lies of fiction feels obligated to indicate in this manner that I do not know everything, and that my ignorance, too, must be manifested in the universes which I create.”
(This is my favorite quote from him about WRITING; I don’t think I could pick just one if I didn’t sort by topic first.)
